Saudi Al-Jouf University President’s 5 children dead after accident

Saudi Gazette report

RIYADH - Five children, whose father is the president of Al-Jouf University, have died in a horrific accident on the Dammam-Riyadh Highway on Saturday.
Dr. Ismail Al-Bishri’s three sons and two daughters were traveling in a jeep on the way back from a vacation in Dubai through the Al-Batha border checkpoint when it collided head-on with a heavy truck.
A relative said: "Dr. Ismail was in his own car and traveling ahead of his children’s car while I was with my family in our car.
"The accident happened so quick after his children ended up in a single lane and could not have avoided the truck that was coming fast from the opposite direction on the same lane.
Although Civil Defense rescuers and Red Crescent paramedics rushed to the scene, they could not save the five children, who were trapped inside the wreckage.
Prince Fahd Bin Bandar, emir of Al-Jouf Region, offered his condolences to Al-Bishri and chartered a plane to fly him and his family to the location where the victims were buried on Sunday.
The children have been identified as Muhammad, 19, a sophomore at King Saud University; Ahmad, 18, a high school student; Sultan, 10; Asma, 24, and Afnan, 21, both college students.
