Ahly targeting top four finish in league

Ahly manager Mohamed Youssef has expressed his pleasure at beating Maqassa 4-1 on Sunday, in the postponed game from Week 11 of the Egyptian Premier League season.
The Cairo giants urgently needed the win as their qualification for the final mini-league phase of the domestic competition was under serious threat after losing four games and drawing two.
Ahly climbed to second place in Group A with 23 points, narrowing the gap with leaders Smouha to three points.
"The victory is important for the team at this stage as we suffered pressure on the players and luck was against us during previous games," Youssef was quoted as saying on the club's official website after the game.
"We managed to control the game and achieve our target," he added.
The league is divided into two groups of 11 teams each, with Cairo giants Ahly and Zamalek separated.
The winner and runner-up in each group will qualify for a mini-league to decide the champion.
"Our target is to reach the last four to compete for the title," he concluded.
